People create culture. And it is the culture that determines whether the strategy succeeds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not so long ago, organisational culture was treated as something \u201enice\u201d - an add-on to benefits and a nice office. Today we know one thing:&nbsp;<strong>is one of the key factors that determines a company's efficiency, employee retention and innovation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a dynamic, hybrid world of work, where onboarding is often done remotely and turnover is higher than ever before, organisational culture is no longer a backdrop. It is becoming&nbsp;<strong>the foundation of<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New employee. New challenges<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>New employees often feel lost, cut off or simply unsupported. And it's not just lack of knowledge - it's&nbsp;<strong>lack of a sense of belonging<\/strong>.<br>Therefore, onboarding today cannot be just an administrative process. It should be&nbsp;<strong>first experience of organisational culture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udfaf Good implementation = higher retention + higher efficiency + lower turnover costs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Onboarding is a journey, not a process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From my perspective, effective onboarding starts with&nbsp;<strong>from understanding where the new employee is coming from, what they need and where they might get lost<\/strong>. Instead of overwhelming them with information - it is worth starting with the basics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Company guide<\/strong>: a well-designed handbook or welcome e-mail with key contacts and rules<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Introduction to culture<\/strong>who we are, how we work, what values unite us<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Map of organisations<\/strong>: who is responsible for what, who is worth making friends with from day one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Handbook is not a formality<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the easiest ways to \u201esell\u201d the culture from day one is to prepare a&nbsp;<strong>good guidance for the new employee<\/strong>&nbsp;- not only with logins and procedures, but also with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Company values<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>means of communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>description of the structure and \u201ekey players\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>information about what is expected of him (and what he can expect).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buddy system - first-hand support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Newcomers should have&nbsp;<strong>assigned buddy onboarding<\/strong>&nbsp;- i.e. someone who is not a supervisor, but can answer all the \u201einformal\u201d questions and show how the organisation really works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's&nbsp;<strong>not only accelerates adaptation<\/strong>, but also builds first relationships - crucial for integration into the culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Implementation is a process, not a presentation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Onboarding is not a one-off presentation. It is&nbsp;<strong>continuous process<\/strong>&nbsp;building understanding, trust and competence. It is therefore worth planning&nbsp;<strong>check-points<\/strong>&nbsp;- e.g. after 2 weeks, a month and a quarter - by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>check that the new employee feels ready for action<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identify areas for improvement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>show that its development and opinion are important.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Culture must also be remote<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In a world of hybrid and remote working, organisational culture&nbsp;<strong>must not end at the office<\/strong>. Care must be taken to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>online onboarding was equally qualitative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>new remote workers had real contact with the team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>felt that they were part of the organisation - even if they did not enter its physical doors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Culture does not happen alone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Companies often invest in tools, strategies and processes.
