„In kettlebell - and in spirit - we choose purity”.”
On 11 April 2025, the world of sport spoke with one voice again. Under the slogan Play True Day, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) invited the public to come together to celebrate the values that give sport its true meaning: honesty, responsibility and respect.
Clean sport is a joint decision
As Head of Clean Sport at the International Union of Kettlebell Lifting (IUKL), I was privileged to celebrate the day with IUKL Board members - 🇱🇻 Vasily Ginko, 🇫🇷 Laurent Fusher, 🇺🇦 Valentyn Berbenychuk - and our entire international community.
It was a celebration not only „at the organisational level”, but together with players, coaches and supporters, i.e. with those for whom clean sport is an everyday occurrence - not an exception.

What is Play True Day really about?
It's not a day on the calendar. It's global reminder, that:
- fair play is not just about rules, it is about everyday choices
- doping-free sport is a foundation of trust
- pure competition is a shared responsibility - from the board to the first start.
We are one community
Thank you to everyone who was with us - in training rooms, on boards, on platforms, in front of the cameras and beyond. We believe that clean sport is a force that unites across borders and disciplines. At IUKL, we play fair. Every day. By choice. Together.
Summary
Play True Day is not just a day on the calendar, but more importantly a global celebration of integrity, respect and responsibility in sport. It is a moment when everyone - players, coaches, organisations and fans - together reaffirm their commitment to clean and fair competition. The values that unite us across borders and disciplines give strength to make sport a true source of inspiration and joy.
